Bouquets & Cut Flower's

Flower stems seal up when left out of water even for short periods. All stems should be cut with a sharp knife slantwise. Any hard or woody stems should be cut and three inches of bark scraped from the bottom of the stems. Stand the flowers in deep water after cutting for at least two hours before arranging the flowers. Do strip all leaves below the water line. Do change water on a regular basis and add flower food each time if possible. All flowers should avoid being put in draughts, heat, strong sun light and near fruit.

Roses

Cut the stems with a sharp knife slantwise and place immediately in deep water up to the neck. Leave in a cool place for a couple of hours for a good drink. Arrange in a deep vase or again cut the stems to suit the vase, allowing for plenty of stem in the water, then add flower food. If the heads should drop re-cut stems a father two inches, spray heads with water and wrap heads in paper and leave in deep water until firm. Roses hate heat, strong sun light, draughts.

 to dry out and should be kept filled up all the time. Do not remove the flowers from the foam. Always place

protection under the container in case of leakage.

Most plants like and prefer light and warm places. Try to avoid draughts and cold places. do not place against a

window. Foliage plants do not need much water in the winter. Flowering plants do need more water though.

You should water Azaleas & Hydrangeas daily do not let them dry out. Water St Paula & Cyclamen from the bottom

and not the top. All plants should be fertilised in the growing season.
